Stan is a Divemaster with an appreciation
for Nitrox, a strong appetite for equipment knowledge and a reluctantly acquired taste for cold water, dry-suit diving.
Stan truly enjoys working with student divers, particularly those who may have difficulty overcoming fears or are struggling with a particular skill. Beyond diving proficiency, Stan considers patience and compassion as the greatest assets he can bring to diving classes. Stan also applies his life-long love affair with aerodynamic sports cars to diving by forever looking to configure gear in ways that reduce his in-water profile and drag. Additionally, Stan speaks French, which comes in handy when diving a number of popular destinations.
Stan works full-time in the communications industry, but devotes much of his free time to reading any book or text he can find on diving and subjects related. He considers the pursuit for knowledge of the sport as a never-ending quest. Outside of diving, Stan enjoys playing the guitar (great for beach parties), painting, salsa dancing (great for beach parties) , photography and boxing (no, not at beach parties) . To put it succinctly, there are few things that Stan does not enjoy.
Ever tropical (some call him "Waterboy") , perhaps even equatorial at heart, Stan's favorite diving destinations are to the south, where the waters are warm, the beaches sublime, and where the cultural demeanor of the populations make even Jimmy Buffett seem uptight.
You can find him "down there," somewhere, often in the beastly heat of summer, slightly unshaven (he claims he "forgets" his shaving cream) and with hair mussed from a dive, as in his photo. Well, you may have to drop down 100 feet down or so. but he'll greet you with a smile and a big O.K.
